Google Search Reportedly Showing Lesser Snippets, According to SEO Adelaide Tool Providers

Using various SEO tools, SEO experts noticed a drastic decline in the number of featured snippets showing up in the Google Search Results.

Since February 18, 2021, it seems that Google is showing lesser featured snippets on its results page for different keywords. Many SEO-tracking tools show a slow decline in lesser featured snippets after monitoring several Google search results.

Many SEO experts were noticing the continued decline since the abrupt drop-down two weeks ago. Using top SEO Adelaide tools, they recorded several changes in every platform they used. Here are the results:

  • Moz is showing a 3% decline (from 7.5% to 4.5%).
  • RankRanger is showing a 1% decline (from 9.5% to 8.5%).
  • SEMRush is showing a 1.8% decline (from 6.9% to 5.1%).
  • SEOClarity is showing a decline of roughly 10%.

Graphs showing this decline can be seen in Search Engine Land’s recent post entitled, “Google Search may be showing featured snippets less often.” Each of these tools was used to track different sets of keywords and featured snippets. However, they are all a similar declining trend.

If your website is getting a lot of traffic from your featured snippet, This sudden decline may negatively affect your traffic. So, make sure you do something about it while the issue persists.

SEO experts advise that you monitor your recent analytics as soon as possible. Utilize SEO tools like the ones mentioned above and check if your featured snippets are still showing up on Google’s search results.

If your snippet isn’t showing, yet you’re still ranking high for your respective query, your site is going to be fine. However, you probably still need to check and see how you can fix the issue about your snippet not showing. The same goes if you notice that your site is now ranking lower than previous.

SEO experts suggest that you add appropriate and relevant structured data if you’re dealing with lower rankings and traffic numbers. Through this SEO Adelaide strategy, Google will help boost your result. That way, you’ll get more visitors coming to your site.

While this abrupt decline in featured snippets may be a point of concern, many experts are treating it more as a temporary bug that will be fixed soon. Google might have noticed this glitch by now and is trying to resolve the issue.

Others are also leaning towards the possibility that this sudden change was intentional on Google’s end. The search engine giant may be looking towards a more significant update in the coming months and is currently doing some dry-runs. Many digital marketing gurus are also aware of the recent change in the oftenness that specific categories of Google search results show on the featured snippets.

Right now, there isn’t any concrete reason as to why this online phenomenon is happening. As of recent updates, RankRanger has just shown a return of featured snippets to an average level. Unfortunately, other tools are not showing any improvements yet, so maybe it’s a bit too early to conclude that the issue is now resolved. We’ll need to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks.
